THE GAME

A traditional roguelike game made with HTML5. The game features ASCII art-based display, random-generated mazes and simple turn-based stealth gameplay without lots of complex hotkeys. You play as a rogue collecting loot and avoiding guards and searching the exit to the next level.

You have Stealth points which you will lose every time when you are in the field of view of a guard (red G). The field of view is displayed as white dots around the guards. If you run out all of your Stealth points, you will lose. You can restore Stealth points by wandering in the darkness.

There might be some traps (red ^) around the levels. The traps won't harm you but they will stop you from moving for a few turns. The traps can be avoided altogether depending on the trap level and your Stealth points. The more Stealth points you have, the more likely you can avoid being trapped.

Not all guards are loyal to their employers and the loot (yellow $) is not only for the game scoring. If you have collected enough loot and if there are more than one guard in the level, you can bribe a guard to leave by attempting to move into the same floor tile as the guard. The cost of bribing will become more expensive eventually.

Collect lots of loot, avoid getting caught and replay! Feedback is appreciated!

Game Requirements: An up-to-date web browser with HTML5 support: Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Edge.

Really nice idea, pretty fun for a few levels! It didn't seem like the difficulty was really increasing though, so I got lazy... it would be cool if some guards could actually chase after you, shine a flashlight, etc to challenge the player more. Nice to play something that is simple to play but still captures the feel of hardcore roguelikes.

Hi and thanks for the feedback.
Yes, there is no difficulty increase, just random generated levels. This game takes place in a fantasy setting, so there cannot be flashlights. Perhaps some kind of player chasing maybe.

hmm, I guess you could call it a directional lantern or something :) or some sort of magic device, flare, etc. With the idea to just take away some of the safe area from the player

Could use an ending.
